Minerva E. Wilburn Osborn Ellison OBIT

Re: Minerva E. Wilburn Osborn Ellison

I received your request while at the library, Tuesday. I looked hurredily thru the Sept. 1928 newspaper but did not find an Obit. Sorry, however, I did find a listing for her, in our cemetery books for the Sharp Cemetery near Quitman which is a little ways from Yantis, Also, found on www.findagrave.com for the Sharp Cemetery, Yantis, in Wood County, TX., a page giving info on her. They had spelled her name as Manervia.
We have Ancestry.com free thru our library and society and I looked her up there first, it listed children born to Russell Osborn and Manervia. Didn’t find him listed buried with her, tho. They have her death date as Sept. 5th, and her name was listed as Ellison. Also, I did look her up on our Death Records Book (from the Wood Co. Courthouse) and did not find a listing for her but I might have overlooked it. If she was listed, then they would have a Death Certificate which you might order, which I will look again to try to locate.
Do you have ancestry .com? if not, send me your address and I can send you what I have and also, I can look again, at the library as time permits, for the Obit in our newspaper. Please reply ASAP.

Thanks, Dororthy.

Family Research Donated to Society

Family researcher Annettee Reed has donated to the Genealogy Research Room of the Wood County Genealogical Society her extensive research on the Kirkpatrick, Minshew, and Ellison families, all early-day through present residents of Wood county. This also includes documents and pictures. The materials are in our processing area at the Quitman Public Library and will be evaluated for the best way to make them available to other researchers when they come to the library. Thanks to Annette for trusting us with her family research.
