LaHoma has been a member of the society since it was formed in 1983 and has served faithfully in many jobs and as a participating member for the 28 years the society has existed. She is a friend whose companionship and service will be missed by her family and her friends in her church, the community, and the society. She was a member of the Clover Hill Baptist Church.

LaHoma was a life-long resident of Wood County from her birth April 23, 1926 to her death August 9, 2011. Preceding her in death were her husband H. J. “Doc” Clanton and son Anthony “Red” Clanton.

She is survived by sons Harris Clanton, Gregg Clanton, Craig Clanton, and Kevin Clanton and daughter Deborah Kinsey and 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grand children, and nieces and nephews.

John T. Potter was in the Civil War and is buried at Shady Grove, Winnsboro.

His tombstone does not show he was in the war. Is there any way we can get a medalion or whatever it is they put on tombstones? Will appreciate your help.

The four offices to be filled are president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. Because of constitutional limitation on the number of consecutive terms officers can serve, presently serving president, vice-president, and secretary must be replaced.

The Budget Committee will submit for approval a proposed budget for the 2011-2012 society year at the regular May meeting.
