Query: Siceluff

My name is David Hull, and I am affiliated with the Kirkpatrick Family Archive in Oklahoma City and associated with the Oklahoma Historical Society. My benefactor has recently inquired about creating a historical narrative related to his great-great grandmother, Mary Julia Siceluff. Her father, Samuel Siceluff was born in North Carolina possibly in 1832, the son of Andrew Siceluff (March 1808, possibly Lexington – August 1868, likely Missouri) and Sarah Johnson (?) (b. May 1804, Virginia, d. Nov. 1872, Missouri). Our problem is the inability to find much to associate Samuel Siceluff and Quitman, Texas. It has been suggested—possibly via family lore more than anything else—that he is, in fact, buried in Quitman near his son, Lewis (Lous?) who died very early in his childhood. I am curious about your suggestions in regards to research. We have employed Ancestry.com, but it would be remarkable if there were any information or accounts on record. Samuel’s wife was Sarah Elizabeth Ritchie (Ritchy, Ritchey) who remarried a Colonel H. C. Hedrick. Sarah, it is believed, died in Sherman, Texas.
I appreciate your time and thoughtful response to our inquiries. Any leads, direction, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David Hull, Kirkpatrick Family Archive  ( david@kirkpatrickfamilyarchive.com)

(No mention of Siciluff in “Index to Probate Cases,” “Wood County 1850-1900,”
“Genealogical Abstracts of Wood county Newspapers . . .,” “Cemeteries of Wood County,”
    or Wood County marriage records.
