Query: Ray Reunion?

Is there an organized Ray reunion group still in existence? I was a life member of that group. I have not had any notices or news of any kind for years. Can you put me in touch with any remains of this group?

Membership fees for new and renewing members for this year are now due. Please mail your dues check of $15.00 for a signle membership or $20.00 for a family membership to Treasurer, Wood County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 832, Quitman, Texas 75783 if you have not yet done so. You can also bring them to the October meeting. Receipt of fees makes it possible for us to begin to carry out planned activities for the 2011-2012 society year. If you would like to make an extra donation at this time, you may do so.

What is a Genealogical Community?

James Tanner of Genealogy’s Star blog makes me think. A recent blog entry asks what makes a genealogical community. One of the criteria he suggests is “shared values and interest.”

That leads to this question: what are the shared values and interest of the Wood County Genealogical Society both from local members and those who live a distance away in Texas or in other states?

Please share your ideas in the comments below (and be sure to sign up for emails when new comments are posted or comeback here often to see and respond to comments).
